Stuck at Same Weight

For the past 6 weeks, I've been consistently losing 1-3 lbs per week. This week I had a 'cheat' meal on Saturday where I still stayed under my goal but was more sodium than I've been eating in a while (believe me, that Kaiser roll and blue cheese were worth it). I have not lost, in fact, gained about 1/4 lb this week. Weigh in is tomorrow and I'm frustrated it. I'm working out 5 times a week, if I can.

I've opened up my diary for help. I do eat when I'm hungry, I'm just more aware of what I'm putting into my mouth. It has helped thus far but this week, nothing.

As the other posters have said, higher sodium means more water retention. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Maybe skip weigh in this week and just weigh next week so you're not frustrated over it. Or weigh in at the end of this week rather than today.

you ate something high in sodium... you gained a tiny amount of water weight... that isnt 'stuck'...

And it's going to happen again... sometimes you will gain weight, sometimes you won't lose for 3 weeks.. all of which is perfectly normal.

Stop using the scale as a "success" or "failure" meter. Weight loss is a strange game. In the end you want your scale to read X number of pounds less. But during the process, the scale number isn't important. The important numbers are CICO (calories in, calories out) Focus on logging under goal calories, and calories burned. Personally, I feel better about being under goal cal for 7 days, than if at the end of a week my scale reads minus 1 lb. Because, I could go drink a glass of water, and POOF! My one pound loss goes away!

Thanks all. While being a home, the foods haven't been a challenge but the rare times we go out, it's daunting. We're heading out of town this weekend. We've got the Denny's breakfast down just need to find the other foodstuffs.

Here's to drinking my weight in water!
