hey all ! I have been so good for so long, lost 12 pounds in 12 weeks, 1 pound a week is really good for me! went on a mini vacation Wednesday - Saturday and threw out all good eating habits. reintroduced a heck of a lot of sugar and pop! ugh! I did do a couple hikes which was good though. anyways, scale now says I'm up 4 pounds after 4 days. is this water retention? or ? im freaking out a bit. help !

Weight fluctuates a lot over the course of a day. So this is likely water weight. Reintroducing processed foods does this. Don't worry and just go back to your normal diet you'll be fine in a few days.

Yes, it's water retention especially if you've cut out a lot of carbs, the muscles will immediately replenish glycogen stores which requires a lot of water to do. There's no reason to freak out.

Thanks!! I just needed some reassurance since I basically 'gained' back a 1/4 of what I had already lost. Although I do know why, desserts, pop and large portions. its not rocket science !

Probably water. I gained 3 pounds in 1 day. Had lots of sodium yesterday (egg roll w/ dinner, yum!) and started my period yesterday. Guaranteed 3 pounds so was not surprised to see it today.

I wouldn't worry about it - I gained 7 pounds on my week long holiday.

Got back on plan on Thursday - and I've already lost almost all of it (just half a pound away from my pre-holiday weight already).

Seen some pretty dramatic weight drops on the scale in the last few days - so I know it was just water I'd put on. I wish it was as easy to shift the fat as quickly as the water!!
