So I took the week off

So I took the week off of lifting because I was getting run down and felt a few injuries coming on. I was under the impression I would come back stronger as long as I kept up with my healthy eating and protein requirements. I did exactly so, but I under ate a lot of the week because I wasn't very hungry due to not lifting and high protein (1200-1500 calories). Today was my day back at the gym and I couldn't do the weight I was doing before. Could the under eating do this?

You felt run down, to start. That takes a toll. Good that you kept up with nutrition too. However, under-eating will, without a doubt, cause some loss of strength in the gym. It comes back fast if you get the proper nutrients - so that's the good thing. I've been lifting for almost three years now and whenever I take time off and/or eat below what I need, I sacrifice some power. After a week back in the swing of it though....usually right back up there. Try working some negatives....that helps me bounce back. It may help you too.0
