Diuretic Drink^^ I meant
I replied to an OLD post, got a bit of info, but now there's no one responded to my 2nd question. The most recent posts in that old forum are just most people arguing &/or trolling each other. So I'm starting a new post with my questions, hoping to get some input.
I'm trying this drink for a week, just out of curiosity. I'm only asking for answers from people who have either tried it, or at least know how to do it.
I don't have distilled water, it's drinking water (I believe it contains some minerals) It shouldn't matter, yeah? Water's water, right?
I drink water from Sparlette's (delivered water)
My main question is about the tea. I can't find a dandelion root tea bag, unfortunately, but I have green tea. I saw a girl on YouTube use regular water, diet cranberry juice (sugar-free it says, 5 calories for 8 ounces, it does contain fruit juice) But since it's only 1 tablespoon...& she used green tea, (2 bags though) & lime juice.
I only used one green tea bag, left it in the pitcher for a few minutes, & mixed it all up & took the bag out.
I THINK the girl left the tea bags IN the pitcher though. Does it matter? Does anyone leave the teabags in the pitcher or jug? I could use a bit of caffeine throughout the day so I don't crave soda or coffee. I drink a cup of green tea occasionally anyway.
Yesterday I drank my 60 ounces within the first couple of hours. (I was hella thirsty from working out) I also wore my waist trimmer during it-- (just to induce sweat a little more) & I peed away about 3.4 pounds. lol Dunno if this drink helped with that, but I'm willing to experiment. I'm bad with sodium sometimes, & I wouldn't mind flushing it away occasionally. Plus my period really packs on water weight-- up to 6 pounds or more.
BTW, I actually really like the taste. It's kind of tart & refreshing like the lemon water I drink all the time.
One last note-- Just sayin', I'm not here to get people all wound up about how much they hate diet trends, or how much they hate Jillian Michaels, or hate anything, for that matter. If you care enough to graciously provide answers to your fellow MFP users asking perfectly reasonable questions, & please don't be mean. (It's like walking on eggshells now, asking anything, people pretty much say: "Anyone asking about this is a dumba**" :indifferent:
Any legit information is GREATLY appreciated.

Reasonable is obviously a subjective term for some. Best of luck.0

What toxins does this drink detox? Dandelion root/tea is known natural diuretic0 -
Oops. Maybe I should've put this under "Diuretic Drink"
That's what I meant! Someone ELSE put it under Detox Water, & I got confused. I thought it was the same thing. It was said to help drop around 5 pounds of excess water bloat if you drink it for a week.0 -
Drinking lots of water on its own will help to banish fluid retention. You can flavour it with lemon, green tea, cranberry juice etc if that helps you drink lots of it.
But there's nothing really "magical" about how long you leave the tea bags in for, how much cranberry juice, where the water came from etc.0 -

I'm not sure how much sucess you are gonna get on finding someone here using that particular diet, as this site caters to CICO and IIFYM
Water is usually water, some minerals can make the water a little less appetizing (I have well water and due to sulfur deposits my tap water can smell like a fart), but it usually will be just as good as water. There are apparatuses that allow you to boil water and collect the steam if you want distilled water. My main question is about the tea. It really shouldn't matter, cleanse diets are usually all the same and usually unhealthy.Does anyone leave the teabags in the pitcher or jug? I could use a bit of caffeine throughout the day so I don't crave soda or coffee. I drink a cup of green tea occasionally anyway.
When I make tea I leave the bags in for about 10-15 minutes depending on how dark I want it. I don't leave them in as I fear they might break and get all that tea sediments in your drink.Yesterday I drank my 60 ounces within the first couple of hours. Are you eating anything else when you are drinking this? If not, I would attribute the weight lose to starving yourself. If you are trying to reduce sodium, intaking more water will do that, you don't even have to make drastic changes in eating or buy into some odd cleanse diet. One last note-- Just sayin', I'm not here to get people all wound up about how much they hate diet trends, or how much they hate Jillian Michaels, or hate anything, for that matter. I'm sorry you feel that the forum goers here are hostile. But you have to understand we get silly questions about cleanse and detox diets ever single day. Most of these questions arn't really questions and are more for validation.Any legit information is GREATLY appreciated.
Legit information? I hope you don't mean information that only aligns with your viewpoint.0 -
Here is some legit information, straight from Jillian Michaels.
She doesn't endorse this.
She says right on her website that cleanses may be necessary for medical reasons like surgery prep, but otherwise "they are complete crap" (her words, not mine)
Her recommendation? Track your calories and exercise.0 -
I'm not just drinking this stuff by itself. lol I'm eating healthy & working out too.
Thanks for the info. (UGH, I just discovered my bottle of diet cranberry juice is expired.)
Don't you HATE it when you buy something on sale, forget to check the date, realizing it's only good for like a week? Looks like this experiment would have to be put on hold until I can get new juice.
Anyway, I'm not much for fancy words, I just said "legit" meaning, just straight-forward. My viewpoint? I dunno. Just any viewpoint, I guess. (My posts get over-analyzed, everyone asking me what every other word I use means. I don't feel I should have to specify every sentence I type on here, I thought my questions were easy enough to understand.0 -
This is a whole lotta work and a whole lotta angst for a drink....wow.0

Tell me about. I think I'm done here. At least I got some answers though, that's all I needed. Honestly, I hate using the forums sometimes.0
