Its that time of year- fall soccer starts soon for my 8 year old. The fields are cool and wet with dew for morning practices and games. Last year I wore rubber rainboots with warm socks- great for the fields, but terrible for when I took off on walks to keep the 1 year old busy. My foot arches killed me in less than five minutes. I do have hiking boots which are water resistant but I find them too heavy to be comfortable for brisk walks.
I plan to do much more walking this year at soccer practice, but need something that is both water-resistant for the time on the wet fields, and still comfortable for hitting the dirt or paved paths nearby for a walk.
Thoughts?

Check out Keen Hiking Sandals.(there's a few different styles) Although, I'm not sure what you mean by "cool". If your feet get "cold", or you're worried about them getting cold this may not be a solution.0

Yes, I should have mentioned we are in Northern VT. So sandals won't do for fall0
