how to avoid feeling so guilty after anything high cal?

I feel so incredibly guilty after eating anythign remotley unhealthy or high calorie. I never feel like i can treat myself or that i deserve it. I just want to be a normal teenager and be carefree and enjoy life like my friends, to be able to eat big bags of doritos and not care or walk into a coffee shop and order what i want with a muffin on the sid ebut i just cant.]
The stupid thing is im underweight and need to gain weight, i also exercise as regularly as possible but the guilt i feel whenever i have less than say 1000 calories left in a day when ive fniished is insane.
i dont know what to do, how do you justify/ stop it?

You might want to consider seeing a therapist, who will be able to help you have a healthy relationship with food and your body better than anyone on this forum. I've been there and it isn't fun, but with the right help you can be that normal teenager.0

Have you considered speaking with a therapist or counselor with experience in treating people with eating disorders? It might seem a little overkill, but your guilt and the fact that you're underweight and feeling this way isn't a good sign. I went through a difficult time with food and a mix of anorexia and bulimia when I was a teenager, it's a tough time when it comes to health, self esteem, body image, etc. Having an experienced person to talk to about it might help you a lot vs an internet forum.0

if you can't work through it on your own and mentally muscle your way through it- it's time to see a therapist- no shame what so ever.

usually when i go log it, some of the guilties dissipate when I see the real damage is not as bad as I thought.
then if i do a little exercise that diminishes it more.
then i play with the MFP settings to see if I was really only eating at "maintenance" and not "blowing my diet" after all.
Then if still necessary i plan a workout for the following day to make up for the cals i overate.
once i have that plan in place the guilties are all gone and I can refocus my efforts.:flowerforyou:0 -

Talk to someone about your issues with food. A professional.

First, like everyone else said, therapist. Find out the root of your problems, what's triggered you, how to cope. Eating disorders aren't a body image disorder as much as they are an anxiety disorder. What you're doing is a coping mechanism (very ill-directed). And the more you partake in these habits, the deeper your body goes into starvation and the more severe your thoughts will become. It's a survival thing from the cavemen times during periods of famine. Can you imagine having no food but continually having cravings? Instead, to deal with the starvation, you might start to fear, hate and/or feel guilty towards food. Your brain chemistry goes out of whack and instead of experiencing the hunger pangs and suffering, you might get a high and feel better when you're actually hungry. It's important to remember you need calories to function. Everything you do from pumping blood to thinking thoughts to growing hair are all processes that need calories; and that's a minimum of 2,500. Honoring your hunger cues (both mental and physical) you will naturally maintain your weight set point. But more important to remember is what's happening inside your body: the larger deficit you create by not meeting your basic metabolic minimum, the more of your healthy brain matter gets replaced by what is essentially dead tissue. It's not possible to survive on a deficit for this reason, so I really hope you can get the help you need!0
