Another IIFYM Question (former 1200 cal junkie)

Hi there,

I've started following IIFYM and lifting weights after eating 1200 calories and not eating back exercise calories. (it worked for a while, but surprise, surprise, it soon stopped).

I used IIFYM.com and got the following macros:
1,678 cals
204 carbs
46 fat
113 protein
43 fiber

I trust the system, but does that seem like a lot of carbs to anyone else? I'm used to less carbs and more protein.

Is 113 enough protein? What happened to 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight?

That all looks right to me. The protein is likely 1g per pound of lean body weight, not based on your total body weight. Fwiw, I just focus on getting in my calories and at least the protein number. Everything else I just let happen on its own.

Thanks jemhh :) Yeah it can be hard to get it to all add up with fiber, fat, carbs etc - like doing a jigsaw puzzle!

How long have you been IIFYMing? Have you had good results?

I have used it since early July with good results. My weight loss had slowed way down in late spring/early summer. I lost a bit less than 4 lbs. in 6 weeks. I decided to take a one week break to eat at maintenence and then start on IIFYM. IIFYM had me increasing my calories by around 250 a day. My weight loss picked up right away doing that. I'm a big believer in eating more as long as I can still lose :)

IIFYM.com is just a website. You can choose whichever macro targets you like and practice IIFYM
