So, I actually never posted one of these when I first started MFP. I had no friends on here until I started reading the posts in the Community section.
Realizing that motivation via other people was one of the main reasons I was able to go as long as I did, I'm back to properly introduce myself.
Hi! My name is Stevie. I'm 25 years old, 257.8 pounds (something like that), 5'4, and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. For a year, I didn't eat white/brown sugar (or any other sugar except for fruit sugars, like coconut sugar/date sugar), potatoes, and beef. I tried to restrict myself from things I know I liked to overeat. And it helped! I dropped 57 pounds in half a year. And then I maintained that weight loss until I hit the end of the year. And then I binge-ate sugar, potatoes, and beef. And gained about 30 of it back.
Granted, I went on like..two or three vacations, one of which was to Disney World, so it's a little justified after not eating sugar for so long. But one of my big motivators before was that when I got to my goal weight (or rather, pants-size), I could get a puppy.
Now, said puppy is sleeping on my legs. After a year of holding puppies at Petland, I convinced my vulnerable father into letting me rescue a fur-kid. We drove 3 hours south of Pittsburgh to rescue a Lab/Boxer puppy from a kill shelter. He's already 20 pounds. It's crazy how quickly they grow.
Anyway: my motivator is shot. And that was the only thing I REALLY wanted. And as a goal-motivated person, I was struggling to find a way to keep going. The puppy had been a way to really ignore temptations. And now, it's like being skinny isn't enough. There has to be something in it for me.
Now, I know what you're going to say. I do. If you're one of those people that wants to come and tell me that if I wanted it badly enough, I'd quit whining and do it already, please please please keep it to yourself. I know. I do! I wake up every morning and hear it in my head.
So please don't be -that- person. I don't need your rampant negativity.
I need encouragement.
I had a friend when I first started that posted encouragements all the time. And I really miss her. So if anyone wants to be something akin to an accountability partner, that would be fantastic. I will devote a portion of my day to uplifting you, if you'll do the same for me. I think the guilt of not checking in on someone would make me utilize MFP more. And hopefully the consistent logging will help me account for the extra calories I seem to be taking in. Even if it's just from eating too many peaches.
So anyway: that's me. I'm back, ready to get back into the swing of things, and my little black dress is hanging in the closet waiting for a night on the town once I'm feeling pretty again.
