Has anyone ever done a bootcamp? I just signed up for one yesterday, it starts I believe the 27th of August. I feel like this may be what I need to get my *kitten* going! And get started on losing this 30lbs!

I have been doing a bootcamp class for about a year now.
In my experience, I have FANTASTIC trainers. they really watch your form and make sure you are doing everything correctly. But the whole environment helps. I find it such a motivating tool. It has really helped me stay on top of my resistance training. Try it out and see how you like it!0 -
I do bootcamp a few times a week. It is really hard and kicks my butt everytime! The gym I go to focuses only on women. I love this because it has really created a wonderful sense of community.
While I wouldn't call it "fun" I always feel great after. Good luck!0 -
Thanks ladies! Yeah Ive had a few ppl tell me that its gonna be too hard, and Im not going to be able to do it etc basically telling me that Im going to give up..But I really think this is what I need, I need someone to make sure I am doing the exercises right and getting on me and being sure that I am doing what Im supposed to. I need that extra PUSH and Im hoping to get that here! Im excited! This one is mon-fri from 530am-630am for 6 weeks...0

Bootcamp is the greatest thing ever!! I dropped over 50 lbs doing bootcamp 3-4x a week and eating healthy. Now, my own workouts look (and feel) like bootcamp.0

I LOVE boot camp. I like the group exercise thing and everyone in my boot camp is so supportive of each other. It is great. And a great work-out. However, not all boot camps are the same, depends on the trainer as to the types of exercises you do.0

Ditto on the obvious love of bootcamp style classes. I love the camaraderie of them and the results I have gotten from going! Good luck and have fun!0

BootCamp can fun and is very challenging, so if this will motivate you to be active then do it. However, I would look at exercise as a way to improve your health & fitness, and to help augment fat loss, but your nutrition needs to be in-order to experience quality weight loss; you can't exercise your way out of a bad diet. The only thing I would caution is that the BC coaches sometimes provide nutrition plans and from what I've seen they can have a very aggressive calorie deficit, so be careful with that aspect of it. You want to lose weight on as many calories as possible for long-term weight loss and health.0

I've been doing boot camp since last October and love it. Always different, always challenging. A few bits of advice:
• Do not compare yourself to others in the camp. Remember, they were likely once where you are now so don't expect to "keep up" with everyone else. Eventually, you will be the one people are looking to as an example of “how to do it right”…it just takes time to get there.
• Go at your pace. This is the pace that keeps you in your optimal fat burning heart rate zone with a push out of that zone every once in a while.
• If a specific exercise is too hard for you, ask the trainer for a modification. If they cannot give you a modification then they aren't doing their job.
• Before the first class, let the trainer know of any injuries you have. This way they can tailor the modifications to your specific issues.0 -
