Women...help with boots!

So I want to buy some knee high boots. Figure that I may need wide calf. Went online and found some boot circumference measurements...seems like 15 1/4 " is standard wide calf. Measured my calf at the widest place...16 + inches :(

I think my calves didn't really lose as many inches as every other part, but really? That far away from even fitting a wide calf boot?

So, any women who wear boots...could you humor me and give your calf measurements and if you wear regular or wide calf?

I feel like a disproportionate freak...

Not disproportionate. I've known several people with large calves.

You do have to hunt for boots that fit, but you can also have the leather stretched. 3/4 of an inch might be a bit much. I recommend going to a shoe guy and asking them. If all else fails, sometimes they can even make shoes.

I wear tall boots and have an almost 18" calf. I got both pairs of boots at Avenue. They aren't leather and one pair held up better than the other but I like them and get lots of compliments when I wear them. There are companies that sell boots for wider calves; Zappos.com, Macy's, Avenue to name just a few.

    Happy Shopping!

My calves range from 16-17" and I either have to choose an upper with some stretch or go with a wide
