Vacation and Bloating

Hello all!
I left for vacation last week and was between 179-181 lbs. We obviously ate all of our meals out, but there is no way that I went 3,500 calories + over maintenance. Four days later, I weighed 186-187 lbs. There is absolutely no way that I gained 6-8 lbs in four days. Clearly, it's bloat and water weight.
I've been back on my clean eating since Monday and my weight still hasn't returned to normal. It hasn't even decreased slightly from the 186-187.
So my question is - how long does it typically take to see a loss in water weight/the bloating?
Thanks!

This exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was up 7 lbs from being gone on our mini vacay for 4 days. I tracked and even though I did go over a time or two, the amount of walking and beaching, sweating, etc that I did I knew there was NO way I could have realistically gained that much weight.
One issue *I* personally have (tmi) is that I rarely go #2 when we are on vacation. I did go, on the first day, but that was it. As soon as Im back home, all is well. LOL So I know that added to the bloat and gain for me, anyway. It took me a week to a week and a half of eating "normally" and drinking a crap ton of water to be back where I was when we left.
Hope this helps, a tad???0 -
Well, seeing that it is Weds. night, you can't realistically expect for the issue to have cleared up by now. It's just not how it works. It can take a week or even two for things to get back to normal. I would say you have some water weight and possibly gained a pound or two -- eating out can really mess things up and dishes can be terribly high in calories from added things! But my suggestion is to not weigh for a week or even two and just get right back on plan. Stay at your calorie goal, drink your water, and just get back into routine. What is water will come off in a few days and if you did happen to gain a pound or two, that should move along pretty quickly, too. Most of all, don't stress! Just get back to it!0
