How to count walking around at the mall...

for two hours?
I'd like to add this into my exercise log today. I see that the slowest walking in the database is walking at 2mph.
Does 100 minutes (allowing time for when I was standing and looking at stuff), walking at 2 mph sound about right to you guys?

I did this last weekend... I was at the mall for 4 hours and I counted 45 minutes of slow pace 2mph... I thought underestimating is better than over estimating0

Yea for browsing/shopping I usually do about 1/2 to 3/4 of the time at the 2mph0

I do the same thing....4 hours of shopping equals 2 hours of walking at a slow pace. I always underestimate on the exercise and overestimate on the calories (if I am unsure).0

It's personal preference, but I don't log it because it doesn't get my heart rate up so I don't count it as cardio exercise.0

I also count it but I do under estimate it also cause it is exercise cause ur bein active but it isnt really like cardio.0

you burn extra calories walking around the mall or doing a lot of other miscellaneous stuff whether or not you get your heart rate up enough to be huffing and puffing..........it may not be cardio like jogging or exercise videos or zumba classes but it counts.....but I agree that it's best to underestimate :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile: :bigsmile:0

Thanks Tiffanyweber for that link! I have always wondered how many calories are burned shopping. It might not be accurate but it's a good start.0
