suggestions for workout with sprained ankle

Hi,

I broke my fibula 5 months ago, finally got back into exercising again (running, spinning etc) and I fell and sprained my ankle. Whilst I have a high pain threshold, I really want to rest it for a couple of weeks as I don't want to keep having these injuries.

Can you suggest a workout/exercises that I can do in the interim? either in the gym or at home?

Thank you

    ummmm......strength training.....duh

Work out your arms, your chest, your back, your shoulders. You will be limited from some of the major compound lifts with a busted up ankle but you can find a lot of isolation movements you can do while you heal up. Then when your healed up add in a lot of weighted squats. Follow this advice and hurting your ankle will one day be the best thing that ever happened to you.

    Lift weights.

I rolled my ankle really bad one time playing basketball. Was at the gym limping around doing upper body in every way I could. Another time I hurt my shoulder, playing basketball again, and all that meant was time to do a lot more on my legs. I have goals and I will reach them, no excuses.
