So I've started piloxing (boxing/pilates) and running and will start weight training later in the year when my fitness is up. I have only properly started everything this week but my main goal is to cut body fat and tone muscle... I was thingking about taking a "recovery" protein shake after I work out but am I too novice for that yet? Thats your thoughts?
My diet isn't very protein rich, I've been working to alter it but I have particular dietary hold-backs.

Protein shakes are purely for those who cannot otherwise hit their protein macro (typically recommended 1g per pound of lean body mass). Otherwise, completely unnecessary. Get your protein in for the day. I wouldn't worry about timing.
Toning is a fancy term for revealing the muscle underneath fat. The best way to do that is to fuel your work outs, lose weight at a sustainable pace, and I'd honestly weightlift now to help preserve current muscle. My fitness was zero when I started lifting. I was 170 lbs last year at 5'3.5" and started with just the bar until I felt comfortable with the barbell movements.
ETA : get a good structured routine, something like strong lifts 5x5, new rules of lifting for women, or all pro.0
