Body image issues start in childhood - Scooby Doo Edition

Really, guys? Going from a size 2 to a size 8 is a curse?!? And we have to wonder why we are now seeing PSAs about dads talking to their daughters about eating disorders. This would be why!

This infuriates me so much. The trailer shows Daphne having been cursed, but she's clearly not gone up to a size 8, but much larger - if that's a size 8, then I'm a size 0 now. The mere fact that showing that she has been cursed to lose her looks and her figure is beyond disheartening.
I guess the main reason I'm so angry is because that this is directed at kids, who are at that age where they are trying to figure out how to deal with their own body to begin with! Sure, let's distort that completely and make what you look like a curse! To me, this is far worse than photoshopped magazine spreads!
And finally, it breaks my heart because of my own story. I was always extremely thin, then I hit on a bad road in my life and got all the way up to 180 pounds. With the divorce diet and a couple of illnesses, I dropped 65 pounds, all the way to 113 and I was a very unhealthy size 0-2. Believe me, at 5'9", that was really scary. It took me almost 3 years to gain back to a healthy weight and put me back in a size 6/8, and wait - that's a CURSE?!
How are we supposed to inspire kids to be themselves and to love themselves for who they are and not be cursed in their own skin? NOTE: I'm not a mom, I'm not an aunt, I'm just someone who believes that who we are as adults starts when we're really little.

If she's a size 8 I'm, like, a negative 3, since I'm a 6 right now at 126 pounds (5'4"). :grumble:
:explode:
