How much is too much?

So I recently got an elliptical and don't have the time to do like 60 mins straight. So I have been doing sessions between 4-10 mins whenever I can fit it in maybe 5-7 times a day. I did read that doing this should help keep my energy and metabolism up. Also 10 mins is the max I can do at a time since I am just starting out I did manage 20 mins once and felt like death afterwards.

If you need to do it longer, just reduce your intensity.
If you feel like you aren't working hard enough, just snag a heart rate monitor (cheap ones go for about $35 on amazon), and check to make sure you are staying in a sustainable zone (for me - about 85% of max if I'm working hard for 30 min). You are usually better off lowering the intensity and going longer if you need to lose weight/gain fitness vs. giving up quickly.0 -
You can go high intensity until you are tired - coast until you are rested - then do it again -Eastcoast Jim0
