Temptation at my doorstep

Not sure I can make it today. We are going to check out holiday windows in San Francisco this evening! I Love checking out the adoptable kittens and puppies in the Macy's windows and taking in all the festive displays everywhere you look each year. But my husband wants to go for burgers @ Burger Bar afterwards and I love the seared foie gras topped burger. One burger is over a thousand calories! ! ! And I know he will order a dessert for us to share. Plus I love having a cocktail when we are out. How can I resist:frown: ??? I'm not sure walking and shopping will burn enough calories. Uggh. I guess I will just chalk it up to another lost day and try again tomorrow. I feel so awful knowing as I write this that I'm going over calories today.

Start by eating half the burger- 500 cals for going out isnt bad and you can save the rest for later. Or choose another burger you like that's less.Or order your burger without the bun. Likewise with the cocktail- either pick a lower cal one, drink less, or just do without it.
Do the math of about how long you are going to walk (just estimate) and look at what kind of cals you have left then prioritize what you want the most. The damage isn't done so there's no reason to give in already. You are a big girl- you know what you have to do! Have some of your treats, just keep it within reason. Don't blame the hubby for "a bad day"- you can find a way to make this work!0 -
While you have time right now go for a brisk walk! Do 100 jumping jacks real quick! Every bit helps! Don't waste the time you have when you know you'll binge later!
We have a place called Red Robin. I LOVE the burgers there! My hubby and I crave them all the time. The one I like is over 1000 calories as well. And that's not adding any sauces! Then there's the steak fries and the yummy appetizers.....yeah it's definitely a temptation!
I say let yourself have what you want at times but prepare for it if you can.
Good luck!!0 -
Eat half the burger or don't eat the bread. Scrape off @ least half of whatever sauce they put on it, and order a clear cocktail (less calories, less sugar).0

Thanks for the support. I am putting on my shoes right now to jump rope before we even head to the city. I realize now that it sounds like I was placing blame on my hubby. It is truly my own responsibility to decide how much I eat or drink and whether I eat any of the dessert. Especially if I know how many calories I have available. But, I Love eating sinfully rich foods sooooo soooo very much.0
