    Thanks I had a quick look, and what on that diet you are losing ?

    About 1 lb per week.

    :) Nice congrats, ill try following in your footsteps then a pound a week sounds good to me. Going to try and eat closer to 2000 a day especially on training days

    weight training builds muscle ..which burns more fat. But if one needs to lose a lot of fat pounds -- just lifting weights isn't going to do it. You have to do it thorugh calorie deficit and fat burning cardio.

    Weight training will not built new muscle without enough energy (calories). In fact, it's rather difficult to build muscle, let alone do it in a calorie deficit. Cardio also is not fat burning. In fact, you can just as easily gain weight while doing cardio if you eat more calories than you burn. Wight loss is achieve through a calorie deficit. Weight training while in a deficit, helps maintain your lean body mass and cardio is good for your heart.

    Also, even if you do build a few lbs of muscle (assuming you are obese, new to weight training, or a returning elite athlete <--which the OP is probably neither), it will not be enough muscle to burn a significant amount of calories.
