Will this work.

My maintenence caloires are 2500, im currently looking to lose fat so i need to be in a deficit of 500, so that means i need to eat 2000 calories.

Can i do 3 hours of cardio a day and burn 1000 calories, then eat 3000 calories and sitll lose fat wouldnt i still be in a deficit?

I would keep lifting weights and keep my protein at 200grams to maintain my weight ?

You are forgetting that you also burn a lot of calories every day just by living, even if you do nothing but stay in bed all day. It's called your BMR so you need to figure that into your calculations.

Personally I would consider it easier to eat a little less rather than workout 3 hours a day, but I suppose to each his own. Plus I'm lazy. :-)

My suggestion is to build habits now that will sustain you through the rest of your life, not just through the process of weight loss. Will you be able to devote 3 hours of your day to exercise from now on? Or is it more reasonable to adjust your calories to allow you to have a life outside the gym?

    Yes, your math is correct.

    1. Make sure you accurately estimate you calories burned with a HRM.
    2. 3 hours a day is alotttt of cardio, make sure you get rest days and fuel yourself well.
    3. Are you counting any calories burned for you weight lifting?

Hey if you got time for 3 hours of cardio a day by all means do it. Also do you know how much food it is to eat 3000 calories. What energy dense food can't you live without?

How do you plan to monitor this 1000 calorie exercise burn?

It would be much easier and more sustainable to skip the 3 hours of cardio and eat 2000 calories. Or do one hour of cardio and eat 2300.

Excessive exercising is a disorder on its own, when done for weight loss purposes. 3 hours IS excessive.
