Bump?

Options
This may be a silly question but what in the world does "bump" mean when someone posts it on a message board?

Is it to symbolize a fist bump?? I'm not sure I haven't seen it.

Its to move the thread up on the message board! :o) Instead of letting it disappear! :o)

I was told so it's saved on your profile page and can check back at things you've commented on later.

When you "bump" something it makes it show up under "My Topics" making it easier to find when you look for it later. I use it for a recipes and topics I want to follow up on but don't necessarily have a comment for.

I dont think it necessairly has to be the word "bump". Any time you reply to a thread its going to save it in your topics AND keep the thread active. Threads get moved up based on most recent activity. Im not 100% on this but I am going to assume because it makes sense to me lol.

According to Urban Dictionary, it stands for Bring Up My Post. So you can use it on all message boards for the above stated reasons!
