Thank you for replying and offering your advice. I suppose you have gone back in my diary from the days my 3 grands were here, I did horrible with all nutrients for those four days. And recently I have been looking for a evening snack, because I read a thread where people were saying about fitting in chocolate, ice cream sandwiches (every night) all kinds of the so called bad food and those people were doing very well on their weight loss. I've been told not to cut foods out, but to have them in moderation. I hardly think 1/4 cup of organic ice cream, or four tablespoons of whip cream on a cup of fruit, is over. Indulging, so I guess in need to look over that.
And someone please tell me why I need to stay away from protien bars. They have really helped me to get close to my protien goal.
Thanks again for your help.
You've gotten great advice already. When you are reading the include treats, ice cream etc into your day, that is after you meet your basic nutritional needs, and part of more than 1000 calorie day.
With 1000 calories a day there isn't flexibility to add in those treats. Now I love my ice cream, gelato, baked goods and do believe some should be included daily for mental health alone, but you have to make sure you are meeting your protein, fat & fiber requirements.
Also stop thinking of fat is a bad thing, its not that was the 1980's fad diet, I know because I tried it. You have grandkids you want to play with, you want to be healthier mentally and physically, so you really need to do this healthier.
Good luck to you0 -
When I was transitioning from peri menopause through menopause, you know, hot flashes, TMO being very very erratic, my hair became very thin. At the same time I had a very stressful job and my diet was bad. Not enough nutrients, too much crap.
Now that I am post menopausal, retired and eating a good diet my hair is thicker and is not falling out.
The advice about your nutrition here is sound. Eat enough and eat real food.0 -
I haven't read all the replies, but i see you are my age (I'm 48). I've been jumping around the thyroid readings for a couple of years and that caused some hair loss for me. Also, hormone levels can do that... sadly as we get older, this becomes a possibility..... definitely get some bloodwork done to find out what the real issue is. Good luck!0
