I used to be active here a year or two ago. Since then I've lost all motivation and have gained half of what I lost back (went from miserable@175 to super toned and happy @134, then went back to around 150 and sad again). I want to jump-start getting back into it because of a certain event, and then I will ease up into something sustainable, but I am looking for advice on losing as much fat in the time span of, say, 6 weeks. (I'm realistic, too. 5 pounds is probably the best I'll do, anything else would be a bonus.) I'm 5'8", and currently somewhere between 145-150. I'm aiming for 130-135 in the long run.

Even if I already *know* it, it would be helpful to hear it again, thank you :)

Specifically - what supplements are best? (fish oil, multivitamin, etc. nothing else, please. I'm iron-deficient, so I take those too.)

ratio of cardio and weights (i've got a gym membership, so i can do classes that combine weights with cardio) as well as how often for how long, how many times a day. Time isn't an issue. I fyou hae had good experience with a certain routine, please tell me about it!

Last, based on the exercise, the carb/protein ratio. i generally don't pay attention to sugar because i mostly get it from fruits anyways. I know how to eat well. I just have been slacking lately.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. It's embarrassing that I've theoretically got a good handle on it, but still need the kick in the tush.... but at least I'm admitting it :)

don't be embarrassed! it's good that you're asking for some sort of "help" or motivator.

I think the best way to lose "fat' is to definitely eat a certain amount of calories each day and exercise 5 days on 2 days rest throughout the week.
Cardio is great for burning a lot of calories and that's something you should do throughout the week or weekend but also include weights two or three times throughout the week so you're muscles get stronger and tighter.

I think that if you stick to a good balanced diet for 5 or 6 weeks and a moderate or advanced workout routine you'll be at 134 in no time.

    Good luck!
