I started Nutrisystem last week and exercised. I walked a total of 12 miles on purpose that does not include shopping cleaning and walking around all weekend at motorcross with the kids. I followed the diet to the letter and gained 2.5 pounds. Who does that. how could that happen. I am so fustrated I dont know what I am doing wrong. I need some motivation.
Thanks All

Make sure you are taking measurements through this process. That is something that will be a great help. Also, with the walking you may not be pushing yourself? Got to get that heart rate up.0

If you changed your diet, added a lot of new exercise, it may take up to a week before you see results. Give it time, sodium alone can add five pounds overnight. Breathe and don't give up!0

Check the salt content on those meals. Many times prepared meals like that are loaded with sodium. You may need to limit those meals to once per day and just eat healthy whole foods otherwise. Also, up your water intake. Hope this helps!:flowerforyou:0

Well... you stressed out your muscles (normal) so you're retaining some water. Your body isn't used to "dieting" so you're retaining some water. You haven't gone to the bathroom (no.2) at exactly the right time. It's TOM and your body perceives that as a stress so you're retaining water. You're not drinking enough water and your body's in conservation mode.
The weight will come off. Be moderate in your consumption and exercise. You're trying to create a sustainable lifestyle now and for the future.
Today my scale told me (in successive weighings) that either I remained the same from yesterday to today, that I gained 3.2 lbs overnight or that I gained 6.0 lbs. (Btw I have gone over my allotted calories maybe once in 150 days, so that should tell you something's up). I'm about to shoot it. I also know that this is way overreacting, but I'm charting weight everyday to see if I can find correlations between what the scale says and what is happening in my life. I'm getting some ideas, at least. My conclusion is fast becoming "Mirii, you need a better scale!"0 -
More water and get your heart rate up to at least 120.0

It is VERY frustrating - and I am sorry that you are having the opposite results of what you expect and want. Everything everyone has already said is right on the money. I read an article recently that said most people do exactly what happened to you - gain in the beginning bc of the reaction in the muscles - and most people give up. I love that you reached out for support!! Would be easier to throw in the towel - but hang in there and it will come off!!
Add lots of friends to your support circle - it will help for times like this!!
Good Luck!!
