Hey there! I need some help in terms of laundry. I need to find some solution to my husbands work out shirts. He sweats extremely bad during workouts. He wears either a Cotton/Polyester shirt or a Polyester/Spandex shirt. I make him put the shirt outside till I can run a load of wash. But now my dilemma is the smell. I can wash the shirt twice and it still smells like his sweat. Is the culprit the fact I make him keep it outside so it essentially dries? Or what on earth can I do for the smell? I bought some Oxyclean to soak the shirts in but not sure if it will help. Has anyone had this problem or do I just have a really smelly husband :p???

I'd say it's the material that it's made out of. Things like polyester really like to hold on to smells. I'm not sure if you'll know what I mean, but it's like with hockey equipment - that **** holds onto smells like it was born to do it. You can try adding Borax or Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda -- they both boost the effects of laundry detergent.

Maybe see if he is open to working out in shirts that are purely cotton-based. Cotton is much more breathable for the body and the smells come out far easier.
