Swollen looking legs?

Anyone else have swollen looking legs? Not just fat looking but swollen looking with a roll of fat at the bottom at the foot but your feet look normal? I have had this for a long time and no matter how much I've lost my legs ALWAYS look the same! How do I treat this?

That sounds like fluid retention to me. Try compression socks -- the knee high ones (less than $10 at Walmart). Ace bandages might also work (not as convenient tho). They definitely aren't stylish, but winter's coming so you'll easily be able to hide them under your clothes. And for fun, take measurements before and after wearing the socks. If the numbers are smaller, at least then you'll know it's fluid and not fat.

If your leg as are swollen, you should call the doctor. If you legs feel heavier than they used to, you should call the doctor. If they're numb or kind of "off", call the doctor.

Do NOT take any advice you get from people online. Never, ever take advice from people online. Since they aren't educated or qualified to diagnose and treat, they often misdiagnose. When you follow their treatment plan, you could end up making whatever you ACTUALLY have much worse.

It can be dangerous to follow medical advice you receive online.

    Call the doctor.

I agree you should ask a doctor, the way you describe it doesn't sound like fat, it sounds like fluid retention sometimes can be caused by a blood clot or heart disease but most likely not anything as serious since you've had it a while but best to get it checked.

Plus, a doctor can assess whether compression stockings will solve your problem, then PRESCRIBE the appropriate level of compression (and if you're lucky, your insurance will cover them!). My friend has a similar problem and her stockings make all the difference, plus the added benefit of making her legs feel more energetic!
