How is this calculated on this site as far as determining how much I should be eating per day. It appears that my carbs are VERY high (165 per day).. and then my fiber is very low (something like 30).. I dont get it?!?!

Are there any better formula I should be using??

and if so.. how do I change it on here. THANKS!

If the numbers given by mfp don't work for you, you can certainly change them to better suit you. Under goals, you have the option to customize your settings. I've custom set my calorie allowance to 1400 because that is where i'm most comfortable. As for the carb/fat/protein ratio, I recently set it to 45%/25%/25%. I'm still experimenting with how this is working, but i will be making adjustments soon as needed.

If you tend to need less carbs to be satisfied in a day, i recommend adjusting your ratio. As for fiber, i say the more the merrier (to a certain extent haha)

Also keep in mind the sugar allowance on this site is a bit skewed because it counts ALL sugar including natural ones in fruits and veggies.

This is based on FDA recommendations. 25g fibre is usually minimum, most people don't even get that much. As for carbs you can lower it and increase fat and/or protein.

If you want to use different numbers, you have to click on Goals on the My Home tab and manually set your goals. Try something like 40-30-30 or 45-30-25. It should look much better. From what I recall, setting fiber is a separate number. It's all there, though.
