I have estimated my calories to mantain my wieght on a few different sites and there is a huge difference between each of them. MFP has my cals to lose 2lbs a week at about 2400 and on a few other sites says that is 400 above maintaining my wieght.

Different websites use different formulas. You eat a number, monitor, and adjust as needed.

That is a huge difference. The MFP one sounds too high, the others too low. If you post some info, people can help. Age, gender, height, weight, activity level.

I looked at MFP and IIFYM and they both recommended a similar intake, 2400~2500. I think it sounds like a reasonable starting point. There's no way you'd be maintaining at 2000 calories at your size if you're at all like the average person your size.

I used the TDEE calculator on IIFYM (website: http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ ) and got:

    Your BMR: 2452

    Your TDEE if sedentary: 2942
Your TDEE if lightly active: 3371

I believe the teacher setting in MFP is close to "lightly active" so your estimated daily expenditure in MFP could easily be around 3400, making a 1000 calorie deficit daily around 2400 calories.

Now, that being said: you could eat around that and see if you're getting results. If you aren't getting the results on the scale after a couple weeks, it's time to adjust by maybe 100-200 calories and try again for a couple weeks.
