I've had sea urchin gonads (uni) before, though it was not taken from a live sea urchin.

    How about balut?

From wikipedia: A balut is a developing duck embryo that is boiled alive and eaten in the shell. It is commonly sold as streetfood in the Philippines. They are common food in countries in Southeast Asia, such as Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam

(I saw an American eat Balut for the first time once. He said it was one of the best things he'd ever had in his life and that the concept made him feel like a terrible person at the same time.)

For some reason I think it would taste like a hardboiled egg or a deviled egg.

    Sorry, won't break the thread!
