should I input pedometer results

I have been using my galaxy s5 health app to track my steps. I was hesitant on the accuracy, but it's only off by a few steps and the calories burned match what my HRM tells me.
At the end of the day, should I input my calories burned into the myfitnesspal app?
I am registered as lightly active, so I'm not sure if those calories just go towards that or not.
I upped my steps like crazy since using this new pedometer, so I feel like it should count for something.
Thanks!

If anything I would only count the amount you increased them by. If you don't know that, spend one day without increasing to get an idea of your 'before' steps.0
