Challenge for Charity!

Hey! I hope that a few other people will like to do this with me, but just having some support and accountability would be super!!

I've been inspired by touching ice bucket videos and want to give back. Thus, I am planning to do a personal challenge with the goal of donating to charity. My first challenge isn't directly related to weight but does affect my health and stress levels.

Challenge:
For the next 30 days, I will only watch TV or browse online if I am doing something productive and healthy at the same time, such as cooking, cleaning, exercising, or spending time with friends. I will also log total time of TV/internet browsing daily.

Why this matters:
I spend way too much time online and watching TV, sometimes for the entire day. This has huge effects such as being more sedentary, as well as affecting my relationship with my roommate and impacting my work. Thus, this month I want to focus on cutting this down significantly.

Stakes:
I will personally donate $5 to ALSA for every day that I fulfill this challenge, and $50 bonus if I complete all 30 days. I will also ask a few people in my life if they would like to also pledge.

    Report for day #1 - I watched/browsed for about 3 hours in the morning before posting. Then I did not watch any additional TV or browse. Instead, I cleaned the kitchen and living room and read a book . Unfortunately, I read the book instead of doing work and going out on time to a dancing thing. So a mixed bag, but a pretty good start to this challenge.

    Report for day #2 - No TV at all and just a little bit of browsing but stopped myself quickly. I was very tired all day and read a book in the evening instead of getting back to work or going to bed early. So I think I will start at least keeping track of my reading time as well. Yesterday, I think I was reading for about 5 hours.
