Mixing up calorie counts

I normally try to keep my calorie counts varied (i.e. not exceedingly consistent) to keep my body from becoming too accustomed to a certain caloric intake. It has been over a week now since I have gone over my calorie count (which I believe is largely due to my recent addition of exercise to my weight loss goal) and I was actually considering an intentional cheat day even though I'm not "craving" one. I've been doing a really good job fitting my splurges into my daily calorie goals. When I looked back into the recent past on my diary, I found that I actually have been doing a pretty decent job of varying my calorie counts.
Does anybody have any opinions on this? Is this a healthy approach or am I over-thinking this?
I have opened my diary up so that anyone can look to let me know what you think.
Definitely open to people's thoughts on this. Thank you!!
