I get these cravings and they kill my day! I don't know how to say no! Like today I had to go to work well usually I would just swing into Mcdonalds and instead I made tuna for the week and ate my a tuna sandwich...well when I got off of work today I came home and gave into my craving of french fries and cook me some! And since then my day just went down the drain! I was wanting to know what yall do when yall get a craving? HELP~

  • I'll eat what i want but in moderation :)
  • It always helps me to either go outside (to get away from the kitchen for a while), or I go work out as soon after the craving begins as possible. It helps motivate me and show myself how far I've come! :) Staying away from the kitchen is the biggest help!

There are a lot of different ways you can deal with cravings. Try a couple of different strategies and see what works best for you. There is no one right answer.

My best advice is that when youre facing cravings, try to substitute the unhealthy food for something thats healthier and lower calories. Try to eat high density foods (foods with a high weight value for the number of calories they have) such as apples instead of something like french fries, which are high calorie and not all that filling. I keep my refrigerator stocked with Lean Cuisine/Smart Ones Microwavable meals. They're usually about 10-12oz of food, and only about 300 calories. I also keep a Balance Bar with me when I go out, so if I get a craving, I can fill it with something that's only 200 calories.

Fast Food is an addiction, and it's natural to slip up from time to time. The key is to understand that losing weight is a war, not a battle, and that you're not going to win every battle. Just make sure that when you lose one you don't give up the war. The more you win and succeed, the easier it will be to keep something like fast food purged from your life.

    Good luck, and keep trying!
  • I will have a bowl of high fiber cereal and low fat milk. Or a bottle of water...OR a few fiber supplements. It helps me feel more full. Wait it out as long as you can and try to figure out if you are REALLY hungry or just bored/upset/watching tv/etc. But, like the other girl said, everything in moderation! You can do it!
