I have a Garmin 220 with HRM. Current weight is 114 I am 5'1". Saturday my husband and I ran 9 miles at about 10:30 min miles. It said I burned 523 calories where as my husband burned over double that. Yes I know we won't burn the same amount but really 523???? MFP calculates me around 730.
Can anyone help the discouraged runner figure this out?

It's usually 100 calories per mile and a little over if you're heavier, but you're only 114 pounds. Perhaps, if your husband weighs more then he will have burned more calories per mile.0

Your HR depends on your fitness level and size...if he's much larger, and/or you're fitter, you likely burned much less. Does he have the exact same model? Are the configured to each of you individually?0

I would say he is more fit than me. He has ran for a couple years more than me and walks our dogs every day. His weight is around 180. I am going to look at my settings again to make sure I didn't mess that up! But burning 58 calories per mile seems a bit low. Or am I just in denial?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!0
