Do you still count calories on your "day off" or do you relax completely? This is day 12 for me and I haven't taken a day off yet, I have planned on it, but in the end still got up and did something. My legs and back are achey today so I'm 99.99% certain I'm sitting exercise out today.

Yes but I don't worry too much if I end up a little over my daily goal. Rest days are important - try not to skip them. You don't necessarily have to do nothing, but definitely do less and/or lower intense exercise than normal. Yoga is a nice thing to do on a rest day because the stretching can help with recovery.

You need to be in the habit of counting calories every day to be consistent. A rest day isn't an excuse to eat way above your calorie allowance.

Honestly, even if I go out for pizza and wings (which happens from time to time) and consumer like 1400 calories, it goes in the diary. I need to know to track my progress, be consistent and know what I actually ate, what I went over by, etc.

Rest days are totally necessary, but really the only change is that you won't exercise today (although I tend to go for a short walk, it helps with the achy feeling you're talking about). Also, not sure what you're doing exercise wise, but working out 12 days in a row is a lot, especially if you weren't all that active before then. Remember to be careful, listen to your body, take rest days as needed (at least two per week, usually) and be wary of injuries.

Weight loss is really all in the caloric deficit, exercise just lets you eat a bit more.
