27/F looking to lose 100+
I'm so sorry people are trying to sabotage! This process is so difficult without the help of others making it worse. You can add me! I'm on daily!0 -
Sorry to hear that! People can be quite frustrating. Feel free to add me!0

I hope I can help! Do you have any specific obstacles? As a teacher, it was terrible because there was always food around (and never healthy). The first half of the day was great but then, on bad days, being drawn to the junk food was inevitable as it seemed like a desperate way to stop the rest of the day from dragging. Every teacher was on a diet, too. It is hard to lose weight for me because my social life involves going out once a week (or every other week) for HH and I am in pain a lot and use it as an excuse not to work out too hard (118 heart rate is my average). ENOUGH about me! I am just presenting example of obstacles/sabotage to see if you have any like this. You can beat this but it takes a lot of creativity. That might be a better way of thinking about weight loss; not "I failed" but "I need to brainstorm something different to try tomorrow." You will succeed, you just have to find your own way.0

All of them are sabotaging you, huh? Really?? Sorry, but I don't buy it. Unless they are holding you down and shoving food in your mouth, no one can make you eat something you don't want to eat. Care to share specifics about this alleged sabotage?0 -
This is always one of the hardest obstacles to overcome, because it will require you to act differently. You have to understand that the relationships you currently have are routine in nature; meaning that your friends, family, and colleagues will EXPECT you to act a certain way; they will expect you to act in a way that allows them to feel "normal" or "comfortable" with the interactions they have with you. When you change, they will have to change, because they will no longer be able to act in the same way that they have grown accustomed to with you. And people don't like change, so this is what makes it difficult.
So here's my suggestions:
Learn to be assertive. This may take some time, but learning to assert yourself in a way that is respectful and communicates your intentions is a skill in itself. Practice it. When you find yourself in situations that may not be the best support system speak confidently, and be proud of the goals you are looking to achieve.
Have an honest conversation. Being open with people and expressing that what you are trying to accomplish is a way to really turn enemies into allies. Make sure you are able to communicate what your goals mean to you and how they can play a part in your success. It let's the people you are close to know that you value their relationship.
Get out. Some relationships are toxic, and if it comes to this, this is where you have to make some tough decisions. Some relationships just have to go, if you are to grow in to the person you want to be.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck,
