Okay what happens when you put everything you got into a workout but when you eat your meals and feel stuffed in the end but your net calories is still under 1200? Right now mine is at 899, burning 800 calories with exercise. What do i do?

I made this mistake! Just now trying to change it up and get those 1200 net calories in. For the past month and a half I have been consistently at 400 to 600 net calories, except on rest days. I feel sluggish, low energy, etc. I am really aiming to get those 1200 calories in now...read a lot online about what happens when this is consistent. I'd say if its a one time thing you're ok, but don't make it a habit!0

Maybe thats why i haven't lost any weight in the past few weeks, ive been gaining instead of losing and that because of my 1 week habit of overeating..now im trying to cut back and move more and now i gotta eat even more? ugh!!0

If it only happens sometimes don't worry about it. It's a consistent pattern of being below that will screw with your metabolism. Also, know that 1200 is NOT the magic # for everyone (mine is more around 1400). If it happens often (and on your over days you are not significantly over (ie more than just 100 or so) to balance out) then just try to work in some calorie dense foods - nuts, avocados, peanut butter, even milk or a protein powder in some milk...0

Do you workout at home only?Because it doesn't seem you aren't doing enough weight training and cardio...You should do at least 30 min of cardio to raise your heart rate...and do at least 30-40 min strength training..If you have free weights that can help...building your muscle will help burn fat..Hope this helps..0

Thats a common misconception to have. I know few friends here, who do the same, and maybe get offended when pointed, but what the heck, friends r to support n tell u when u r off track.
Always check ur net cals, not cals consumed, more burns more intake.

I have the same issue. I am eating MORE then I did before I began to diet. It seems backwards. So far I lost 3 pounds but I have also been sick. So brainwashed to EAT LESS, WEIGHT LESS.. I really hope eating 1200+ is good for me0

^ Once we start dieting, its so easy to overdo it and think the more deficit makes it better. That is that exact reason why we get stuck midway, at least I did, and I'm happy to read around and come out of that loop.0

I do not understand this part at all. What do you mean consumed, net, etc?0

Let me just say I am far too familiar with starvation mode. Its inhibited my weight loss before and for the exact reasons stated above. Thinking it would make me skinny if I eat less. Instead my weight loss freezes and I don't understand it. So I am going to just give you my biggest hint. Please don't hinder yourself by eating less. It really will stop your weight loss dead in its tracks. I've been trying to loose this last five, six pounds for the past month. I decided to start operation eat like a king for breakfast. Saved my life. I eat at least 400 calories for breakfast and that way I'm not in a deficient by the end of the day. Its not always perfect but since starting, I've lost two pounds! Mind you, I burn around 4000 calories a week working out so I knew I was doing everything I could already working out. EATING was the key for sure.
Love ya girl! Breakfast is awesome!! )0 -
our bodies require fuel. 24/7. yes, while we are sleeping we aren't burning as many calories as we are when we are doing cardio, but we are still burning calories. eat 4 meals a day with snacks in between. your body needs fuel just like a car does. you can't expect to get in a car in your home town in MI and get to me in the south on less than 1/2 tank of gas, can you? don't expect your body to preform on less than enough fuel.
eating often does two things: it keeps your blood sugars level in your blood stream. this is VERY important for ALL your organs/systems to function properly and not send them on an energy roller coaster.
secondly, your metabolism feeds your systems...your metabolism works best when fed a little here and there then consuming lots once or twice a day.
and as someone mentioned earlier, your body needs the weight training. why? for a couple reasons: muscle will burn calories 24/7. cardio works the heart/lungs and others systems, but the effects are short term. within a short time of stopping your cardio, the burn stops. when you have muscle, your body burns 24/7. BOTH are equally important for a healthy lifestyle. lifting small amounts of weights will not cause you to be "body builder" looking, but WILL help you to have stronger bones while supporting your joints so that you will have less injuries and recuperate faster from injuries.0 -
I'm doing my best..I was lacking strength training and working on that more. As for as weights..im lacking that too i dont have weights except 1.5 pound wrist weights that fit around my arms only. (not my legs, dunno why) I do exercises at home sometimes because its just to cold to get out on some days so i just do stuff indoors. im sure anyone understands..i would go to supermarkets to walk around or local malls but its just too many people and i LOVE the fresh air better.0

can someone explain net calories
Okay say if your on a 1200 calorie diet, and you burn 500 calories you take that and subtract it. (I think thats how it is..if its wrong correct me later) that would be your net calories so whatever you burn off subtract it to your daily calorie goal.
It is a good idea to make sure you eat 1200 net calories so your body doesn't go into starvation mode. You will also see it on the main page where it shows your calories.0 -
No if you burn 500 calories the you add that to your daily calorie intake...So if you workout and burn 500 calories your daily calorie intake would be 1700 instead of 1200 calories for that day ok..As far as your strength training you can go to Sports Authority or any sports store and get some free weights...like 5 or 10lbs even 15lbs to start then go up in weight as you progress..0
