Polar FT4 issues?

Hi,

I've recently dug out my polar FT4 HRM and it seems to be telling me I'm burning a lot of calories and I'm not sure I believe it...
For example today I was at the gym for 35 minutes and it told me I burnt 450 according to the HRM. This seems rather high for 35 minutes? My heart was beating quite fast throughout but I didn't feel like I'd burnt THAT much. The machines at the gym were giving much lower calorie burns. I was doing intervals on the rowing machine, running on the treadmill, cycling (increasing the level every minute) and some weight machines.
Just for info, i'm 174lb and just starting up at the gym again and I've replaced the batteries and clean the strap regularly.

Any ideas? Is this right?

have you updated your info in the watch? If you weighed more, it may be miscalculating (if you weigh less now)
  • I haven't had that issue but I've had A LOT of issues with my Polar FT4. It wearing pretty thin with me so I'm awaiting a new timex in the mail.
