Nobody ignores my texts... they are all just so happy when I text them back. lol. I very rarely answer my phone for anyone other than my husband or my kids. I hate talking on the phone. I only call people if I know they are having a hard time with something, or if I need something (selfish, i know). Texting though, if I just want to bull****, or invite them over or inform them of my impending visit or what not, I start by replying to the last text they sent me. Sometimes it will be weeks or months old, but they know me and love me regardless of my uncanny ability to ignore them. :)

what makes us give up contacting someone when we text or call and w get no response. Some how it seems getting a response encourage us to text again but when we sent texts and call only to be ignored ,we just give up naturally without even realize it. Is it because deep down we know we wont get a response?

Y are you text'ing.. just pickup the phone and call

I cannot ignore a text... and I cannot NOT answer a ringing phone... if someone thinks it's worth the effort to communicate... the courteous thing to do is RESPOND... IF an "acquaintance" can't be courteous they do not move up the relationship ladder to "friend" 'cause.. friends don't leave friends hanging...

Set up a fake Facebook account, make friends with them stalk them to find out what they're up to. Maybe try and hook up with them online with the fake account then when they're really in love with the fake you meet up with them and get married and live happily ever after...

sorry been watching the Catfish omnibus....just get over it

The only one who has ignored my texts is my son. Then I nag the hell out of him until he answers me. LOL

There's an app for that now.. lol.. If he's a teenager, and he ignores you, you can install an app that shuts down their phone until they call you and get it reactivated. :)

Dang, people. I am never giving my phone number to anyone on this thread. Infected body parts??? ROFL. Terrible!

If a person consistently does not respond (rather than just missing a couple; even my husband sometimes doesn't receive a message I've sent. It happens) then that person isn't interested in communicating and you should probably just forget about it.

Androids also have a device manager that you can link through gmail accounts. I have this for my 8th grader's phone. I can locate it, lock it, and make it ring at will. I can also erase everything on it from my phone. It's pretty cool. I've locked it once, but only because his mother took it from him so she could use it to send nasty pics to her ex bf and current buddy since she didn't pay HER phone bill.

Edited because I can't spell today.

Thank God this wasn't around when I was a teen.

yeah, she's a piece. He saw it, too. She doesn't know that he saw it, but even if she did, she probably wouldn't care because "he's a teenager, not a baby!" Those were her words to me when I told her to quit telling him her ex was telling everyone she was a prostitute.

It's because we know we are being sent a nonverbal message. We know that a lack of response means that person doesn't want to talk to us. We aren't giving up. We are respecting the wishes of others.

Move on... being reachable is one of the key foundation builders in a relationship. There is never a good reason to not reply to a text within a few hours... speaking from a guy who has a high profile job, and often has situations where I receive texts at inappropriate times, I always read them within minutes, and if it's really wrong to type back that moment I certainly will within the hour.
