I absolutely love MFP! I found this app two months ago because of my doctors recommendation. I have struggled with weight loss for years. Since starting this program 2 months ago, I have lost 31 pounds. I have well over 150 more to go...but we are shooting for small goals at a time. I do not have any comparative pics yet, but I will put them up at 50 pounds. I do need advice though. My calorie limit (without exercise) says I can have 2120. I have been keeping my intake around 1800 because I feel that it is sufficient. According to mfp, my exercised calories are around 400. I have not been eating these because I do not feel hungry. Should I be eating more calories? So my net calories today are only 1412. I am just so afraid if I eat more....I will stop losing the weight. Any advice?

Good on you! I agree that MFP is fab. I have actually stuck to healthy eating for a month now, and in the past it was only ever for 1 day at a time.

Whenever you post your exercise, you're granted the calories you burned according to this site.
I personally do not eat those extra calories because like you - I'm simply not hungry, so why eat.
I eat low carb foods 90 percent of the time, and try to stick with 20-30 carbs per day but sometimes go above.
I noticed lately I have been way below my calorie count (but on a low carb eating plan you don't count calories).
Still, my calories are way down.
I know I feel full because I drink a glass of water as soon as I get up in the morning, then another at bedtime, and I always drink a glass of water before my breakfast, lunch and dinner, AND after as well.
This gives me my 8 glasses a day, and I definately feel fuller longer and eat less food.
I would say for you to listen to your body, and if you're full why eat more?
Sounds like you're getting plenty of calories with 1800.
If you're losing weight like you said, and sticking with approximately 1800 calories, then you are doing something right, and there is no need to change you intake.
Way to go by the way, and keep up the good work!
Yes, this is definatelyl the best site I've run into as well.
Good luck, and God bless you.
Merry Christmas and a good new year to come!
  • I still don't eat all my exercise calories, but when I do work out hard core I do eat more calories than usual. I had to start doing that because I actually gained some of my weight back and I think it was from not eating enough, that whole body goes into starvation mode thing. I'm sure it's different for everybody but I found that starving myself was just not working. Best of luck to you, and you are right, this is an awesome site!

I don't eat the extras either. It says I can eat over 2,000 and even when I eat all day its 1500cals. But I will admit that I tend to be a smaller eater. I also want to LOSE weight so the exercise cals are bonus ;)
