Falling and can't get up

So at work we started this weight loss challenge and I was doing pretty good. Sometime during late summer I went through some rough times and that to say the least threw me off my weight loss path. Now I'm doing pretty good but I just can't seem to find the motivation to get back into the gym and start eating healthy again. I try and log my food on a daily basis but even when I see that I've gone over my calorie limit and I feel my clothes getting a little tighter I can't seem to find my way back. I'll eat and feel fat or feel guilty over what I'm eating. Does anyone feel like this? I see myself falling but I can't get up.

Take it one step at a time. I'd work on exercise first and or on cutting back on sweets or something like that. You can't eat a whole cow at a time so if you're not feeling motivated, don't try to do it all at once!0

I'm going through something similar. This is the danger point- the point at which I've given up *so* many times in the past. I'm telling myself- and now you, too- whatever you do, just don't give up!!!
Keep logging, even if you're not happy with the numbers. Go back to the "I'll just exercise 10 minutes" self-mind-trick. Know that, if you can just get through this period of low motivation without throwing in the towel, you'll get past it.
Oh, and stop with the guilt- that just makes it harder! Forgive yourself and move on.0 -
Yes, this just happened to me recently too, and I gained seven pounds. I was eating sugar, sugar, sugar, so I cut it out one item at a time and within a few days, my cravings finally left. It will change for you too, so don't give up!0

Emotional eating is a really difficult cycle to break free from. We feel bad, eat, feel bad about eating, then eat more to try to feel better still.
We only end up feeling worse than when we started.
Try to remember (and as a former food addict and emotional eater, I know how hard this is) that the food you're reaching for to comfort you is not going to comfort you. You're not reaching for comfort. You're reaching for guilt and self loathing.
If you do over-eat, don't beat yourself up. This also only perpetuates the cycle. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, LOVE yourself (because it's the desire for comfort that drove you to the food in the first place, not the desire to be berated by your inner-critic), and start fresh in the next moment.
You can do it and we're all here for you

Thanks everyone for caring! After reading the replies I feel much better about myself and the goals that I'm trying to accomplish. I just have to get my head in there and focus. Thank you!!0
