First day back NSV

I have two children and they are both "special needs". My son has autism and ADHD along with several other delays and disorders but is the best best son ever! My daughter was born with severe visual impairments and after two surgery is only considered legally blind but is my hero and faces this world like a champion, loving life and never backing down.

With all of that, my every day is filled with multiple therapies...speech, occupational, vision, orientation & mobility, and equine, the list goes on and on. I wish my kids didn't have to face the challenges that they have but I wouldn't change them for the world, they have shown me what life is all about.

Unfortunately, I tend to eat my stress and emotions which is why I am where i am.

My daughter started a brand new school last week and my son started a brand new school today, 1/2 hour away from each other. After we got both kids dropped off to school and my husband left for work, I just stood there in the kitchen not knowing what to do with myself! Normally, I would celebrate ANY time alone by grabbing a bag of chips and watching a movie....and I did turn on the tv, but this time, I grabbed my wii fit board and did my version of step aerobics while watching a show! I would have gone for a jog, but the humidity is off the charts today :(

But I wanted to share my NSV for today and I'm changing not only for myself, but because I need to be around and healthy for my kids!

Way to go! That's how it's done - one little change after another.
    Keep it up!

Good job! Remember THIS feeling anytime you are feeling down or want to revert back to your old ways. And you will at times, as we all do, and that's okay. The important thing is you succeeded today and now you KNOW you can do it! Let this just be the beginning.

This is the way to do it. Plus the fact that you could write it down so well signifies that these changes are already deep inside of you. I love this kind of NSV! :drinker:
