Newbie Saying Hello

Hello, I'm new to myfitnesspal and just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully find some friends to follow on this journey. I am 6 feet tall, 285lbs. I played football in high school, lifting weights etc. and have been gaining weight a little every year for the past 8 year since leaving high school. I'm finally ready to start this weight loss journey. I have joined a local gym and have a fairly decent knowledge base about weight lifting from my football days. My short term goal is to drop to 245 in the next 2-3 months. Any advice or suggestions is would be really appreciated. If you are on a weight lost journey feel free to send me a friend request. :)
