Counting Calories?

I am following MFP suggestions as closely as i can, my calorie goal is 1200 per day.I know u have to burn over 3,000 calories to lose 1 pound....but when i add in my workouts i burn like 400-500 calories only. does this mean i will not be losing any weight?? Because I am eating much less and much healthier than i did before and i am now more active (gym/workouts).

Your body burns calories all day every day just to function, you burn calories walking to the bathroom.

If you are eating at a calorie deficit and exercising, you're taking in much fewer calories than you are burning. You will lose weight doing this. I would suggest that you try to lose weight while eating more than 1200 cal/day though. This is really bottom of the barrel, and if you get stuck in a plateau, you'll have nowhere to cut from to get things moving again. What I do and what I recommend to people is to eat at a calorie level that allows you to drop 1-2 lbs/week. This assumes an average calorie burn from you getting in all of your workouts. This will be different for everyone, so you'll have to do some trial and error to figure it out. I'd start ~1400 cal/day. Hit this goal, along with your macros and getting in your workouts, for a week. If you lose 1-2 lbs, you're good to go. If you lose too much, increase your intake and repeat. If you don't lose enough, reduce your intake a bit and repeat. After a few weeks, you'll figure out what works for you in your situation.
