I have read spicy food boosts your metabolism. Anyone else agree?

I don't know, I've been eating spicy food all my life and it never really showed on my waistline, lol.0

Really I guess, I never use to eat spicy food and I was skinny, so idk now I try, nothing like jalapenos, but like spicy chicken etc and I am still larger0 -
Increasing everyday activity speeds up metabolism (for example doing a more physical job, or ditching the car and walking everywhere)
Doing more exercise speeds up metabolism.
Calorie deficit is what causes weightloss though. So you can increase your TDEE by the above methods, but if you are eating more than that TDEE you'll still gain weight.
Conversely you can keep you everyday activity sedentary, do little or no exercise and eat under your resultant TDEE and you'll lose weight.
I eat a lot of spicy food and lose and gain weight normally inspite of it when I'm cutting/bulking.0 -
Not positive it is true but I do use hot sauce as my salad dressing daily.0
