Hi there I'm 39 years old and want to loose 21lbs the proper way. No fads, pills etc. What percentage should I be having everyday of carbs, fat and protein to be healthy and loose weight. I walk to and from work every (going home up two big hills) and takes me prob an hour every day especially if I'm carrying shopping. I walk my dog also for an hour a day. I have recently had bad vertigo which although hasn't completely is still there so for approx. five months I haven't been having my personal bootcamp training. I have recently bought insanity to do at home especially for when its winter (cold, raining and dark) and I can do at home when I get home from getting my son from school.

I'm not an expert, but I see 40% carbs, 30% fat and protein tossed around a lot. I recently changed mine to that and seeing how low I come in on protein most days is giving me a big kick in the butt to eat more.0

For weight loss, calorie intake is what's most important so focus on that primarily. However, health and fitness can be helped by a proper macro ratio. I'm no expert either but the general standard is the same as what 365andstillalive noted
40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein.
If you have any medical conditions which may be impacted by macro balance, check with your doctor/specialist.0
