1200 calories

Okay so I had 905 calories today. And I already had dinner so I won't be eating anymore. According to Myfitnesspal I'm supposed to eat 1200 per day. Is that bad that I eat 905 only?

well if you take this as the light day and will eat tomorrow from 1200-1300 calories then it's fine. it's not a starving mode but if you don't eat like this regularly then it's fine

Unless you have the okay from a medical doctor to eat 1,000-1,100 calories, it is not safe.

Hitting 1,200 calories a day ensures you are getting adequate nutrition.

I'm 5'0" and sometimes I only eat 900 calories. I have found that the next day I am hungrier, but I just eat when I'm hungry so oh well.
  • I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with eating near 900 calories on some days. I actually am the same way. There are times when I'm just not that hungry, so I don't eat as much. Your appetite will fluctuate. It's normal. Eat according to how you feel.

Humans and animals have survived this long without an app to tell them when to eat and when to stop. We're made to withstand day to day variations in intake.

I agree. OP will probably feel hungrier tomorrow to compensate. My appetite has been working similarly. Some days I eat a bit less. Some days I eat a bit more.

    ITA.

Some days you're hungrier than others. Some days, you're less hungry.

    Eat more, eat less.

But, OP, if you're craving food and only ate 900, have something to eat, for Pete's sake. If you're full on your 900, great. But since you're craving food, eat something.
  • Eh. It's a light day. If you are a short woman who doesn't weigh much it probably isn't a huge deal for you to have a day like that here and there. If this weekend you're at a BBQ and you really want that extra rib you'll be golden since you were light today and it all evens out.
