I'm jogging/running but can only choose walking?

So I'm only 5'4 and have been doing the jog/run/walk thing for a while. Since I'm shorter, when I get to 4.0mph I can no longer walk because it no longer feels comfortable going that fast so I start jogging. My question/concern is why I can only choose "very very fast walking" or brisk walk when I am not walking, I'm definitely jogging/running even at 5.0mph. Is there a way to adjust the calories burned? I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere when I have to choose "walking" and while it may be mental, I feel like I'm burning way more than what the app says I burned. does anyone else have this problem? or have a solution/fix to it?

I have noticed the same thing. What I have seen around the internet, and I'm not sure if this is correct, but I go by it rather than the app, is that you burn about 100 calories (roughly) per mile.
Hope this helps . It always feels like I am burning way more calories than I actually am.0 -
If it really bothers you, calculate your calories burned using the walking description but log it using the create your own exercise option. The calories will be the same.
I know that the walking description is kind of annoying. I am annoyed that there is no 5.5 mph. Only 5.0 and 5.2.0 -
i dont think it matters in terms of calorie burn because the amount of calories you burn are going to be more a matter of how far you go in the amount of time.
also, i'm 5'5 and 5.0 is still a walking speed for me so 4.0 is definitely a walk for me0 -
I use this calculator - http://www.runnersworld.com/tools/calories-burned-calculator0

I use this sometimes, too. But it seems to have changed. Or I've gotten slower. It doesn't like some of my distance with my time. Too slow for it, I guess?
Also, I want this shirt to run in:

that bugs me too, as i am at 5.5 pace, tryign to get to 6mph!
OP, slow jogging doesnt actually burn as much as you think so the walking burn is probably accurate.0
