Getting enough fibre

I'm now eating a good diet of pretty much all clean, healthy foods. However I noticed my daily fibre intake averages between 20 and 25 grams per day. I'm currently eating about 1600 calories a day. when I read on recommendations I see for my sex and age (male, 49), that the recommendations vary from 30 to 38 grams per day.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I am losing weight at a good rate. It would be a bit tough to raise my fibre intake given my daily calorie goals. Is this common?

How inactive, short, and slim are you? Your calories sound far too low, and increasing will help you get in more fibre.

But sometimes I have a hard time getting in fibre in my deficit. When I ate at maintenance for a few days I didn't have much issue. If need be, add in a supplement, but otherwise just try to reach for high fibre foods to mix wtih your meals/recipes

I really wouldn't trust the figures you get from MFP regarding fibre. It is not a legal requirement in most countries for food labeling and many user generated entries are unlikely to include this value so the figure is likely to be off
