Hello from Yorkshire!

Hey,

Been using the tracking app for a little while and lurking on the forums and thought I'd introduce myself and share my weight loss experience so far.

A little about me, I'm 25, married (wife is also on here) and an IT engineer, so travel the country with my job.

My weight loss so far has been....unsuccessful.

I am currently about 5ft 11 and 280lbs.

I've always been a heavy bloke. Don't get me wrong I don't look 280lb, people usually think I weigh less than I do.
Measurements wise I am 52" shoulders, 48" chest and 44" waist.

I eat fairly healthy although do enjoy a take away a couple of times a month.

I'm sure there are others on this site who have has the same frustrating experiences with friends or colleges who suddenly lose a lot of weight. "How did you do it?" "Stopped going to McDonalds every day on the way home"

Asking doctors for help is a waste of time. "If you burn more calories than you eat you will lose weight" seems to be the mantra. Presumably I have the metabolism of a sloth since every medical professional tells me I should be eating at least 2400 calories a day to lose weight.

If only it was that easy....

I go to the gym a couple of times a week and have always done physical hobbies, snowboarding, horse riding and martial arts.

Hoping that by tracking my calories and taking part in the community will help me lose weight and get fitter :-)

Will try and add some profile pics later on (hopefully before I lose weight :p )

That's it for now, thanks for reading!

Yes tracking your calories will help. You get to see where the wasted calories are and maybe where a better choice could have been made.

The IT industry has a lot to answer for.. It's a job requirement to eat too many pies.
