hi,

just a quick question.

I took photos of me at my start weight, iv now taken photos after a loss of 5.1kg.

my question is "how often should i take photos?"

should i take them every so many weeks OR should i pick a number (say 5kg) and take photos each time i loose said amount of weight??

what do you do??

This is a great question. I wish that I had been taking my photo every two weeks. I am very bad about taking photos, looking at them and being unhappy, and then deleting them. I have very few progress pictures because of that. So from my perspective, I would take (and keep!) them fairly often, even if you are the only person who sees them. That way if you get discouraged you can see all of your changes over time.

I'm on a three month interval, although everyone is different.

completely up to you...I took progress photos at the start and then again in the middle...then I didn't really take any after that. My first 20 Lbs or so, it was hard to tell a difference without comparing photos, so they came in pretty handy...my last 20 Lbs was such a dramatic change that I found photos to be completely unnecessary.

This really just depends on you.

I have spent years doing everything i can NOT to be in photos because i hated seeing myself and the few that I am in depress me so much.
Infact it was a photo my husband took of me on holiday in July that prompted me to doing something about my weight.

Iv uploaded my photos to my account, the ones at my start weight Im covered up, but the new ones i added today there is much flesh on show lol.

I thought "if i add my photos to here and i can see them, the bad ones will keep me going (omg look at that!), and then when I can see changes they will keep me going for good reasons (omg look how well iv done) sort of thing.

thanks for you comments, think I will do the 5kg thing i said in my OP, that way i can have regular ish photos to keep an eye on progress but without having loads of photos of my self (which i hate)

    xx

Yeah, I avoided pictures too. The "starting" pictures in my profile are the only ones I have of me as before shots. I'm sure there are other pictures out there that relatives have but I they can keep them, lol. One of the things that got me on the "losing weight" path was wanting to feel good enough to take pictures with my daughter.

I was posting pics on facebook from our holiday and my aunty commented saying "are you gaing to give the camera to gaz so you are in some of the photos with your kids"

I said not if i can help it lol, but then I thought, omg when they are older and we look through photos I will have none of me with them. There are very limited photos of me and the few there are are with the kids but I usually look awkward and trying to stand behind them etc

Thats not how I want them to look back at memories and see me
